Slow week at work
Monday, December 29th, 2008It has been a slow week at work because of the holidays. Two of my friends who work for Mothers have been doing some of their own filming for their own project.

My seatpost was seized in my Hollands. I recently discovered this when I switched out my Selle Alpine DSA saddle for a Ti Flite. Went to raise the saddle and it wasn’t having it. Typically I’m a grease-obsessed guy. I’ve argued with Tom and Tony extensively about greasing the barclamp on quill stems and I’ll slab it on just about everything that moves (except the tapers on bottom brackets). That being said, I was a bit upset… After taking it to Affinity and dousing it with Liquid Wrench, it was time to put it in the vice. That’s my brother helping me out. What a way to spend your NYC vacation!
Ten years in the making. Monster Track faked its own death last year and now it returns.
This is bragging rights for a year.
No brakes. No “i just want to ride this” bullshit.

Last Thursday at Peel Sessions brought around the monthly sprint series, Midnight Keirin. Chris Kim throws this event to satisfy the bragging rights of the track bike kids in NYC. It’s usually under the BQE overpass where the Peel Spot is and involves a quick sprint and a sharp turn around a column. This week Chris took it to the streets; three laps around that course. All the typical heads showed up and a few groms as well.
You all met Kai last week. Well, two days after his intro, he took 1st place at the Midnight Keirin race. Way to go Kai!
As promised, or at least rumored, more riders. Please meet Kai. Click through to the Vimeo page to view the clip in proper HD.
And yeah, we have a blog now. We’ll be adding more rider profiles over the next couple of weeks and new riders in the coming months all of whom will be writing here when they get the itch. Or I harass them enough.
