The local road racing season got underway a little more then a month ago. The best thing about it is that it gives many of us a good reason to get the hell out of New York and race bikes in places that don’t have cell phone service or bodegas. My teammates and I have also had the good fortune of being put up by kind strangers on several occasions so far this season. And although the accommodations vary from warm beds to cramped couches the gesture from people who only vaguely know us through some other 3rd party is always a welcome one.
