Empire got a double feature today. We were used as the lede in a NY Times blog post here. Lots of local greats quoted including Kissena track don John Campo, up-and-coming cyclocross don Christophe Jammet, and OG David Leopold. But no Bike Snob quotes. He must be busy finishing up his book.

We’re on the Cog site and in the next issue. Check out the slide show. All photos are by the inestimably talented and all around awesome dude Ray Jones.

Last weekend was pretty darn cold on Saturday, but Crihs and I still managed to get out to shoot. Sunday was a lot warmer, but unfortunately we weren’t able to coordinate to do it again. So I decided to paint some part of the town red. I met up with John Watson at Affinity, my friendly neighborhood shop. It was mechanic John John’s birthday, and Jason got a keg. Lots of locals were there, and things got a little weird. But no regrets. Tomorrow is a new weekend with great weather again, and lots of shooting to do.

New directions
Here’s a still from the latest shooting. We’ve decided that the market for fixed gear films is over-saturated. So instead of making a film about the best urban riders, we’re making something about the best apples. The best part is that we don’t even have to change the name.

Ten years in the making. Monster Track faked its own death last year and now it returns.
This is bragging rights for a year.
No brakes. No “i just want to ride this” bullshit.
