After a long, snowy winter and a year of screenings with the Bicycle Film Festival, we’re almost done. All that’s left is to finalize some DVD menus and cover design and you’ll be able to buy this dang thing.
Look for more frequent updates on the blog. Here’s a video of Empire riders JT and Yatika skitching across the Williamsburg Bridge to tide you over.
Our buddy Keith, who also helped us build our dolly for Empire put together Broadway a couple of days before it took place. Here is what JT and I got out of it…
It’s hard to overstate how happy we are to be screening Empire in San Francisco. The bar set by Mash and Macaframa is high. If you’re in the Bay, come see how we did.
Also, Chris and I will be in San Francisco. Say hi.
Great ride by JT. He got on the podium, right behind friend and new-pro Neil Bezdek. Rumor is that Neil’s winning strategy from the second Red Hook Crit, go faster than everyone from the gun using a 48×13, didn’t pan out.
We’re screening at the Los Angeles Bicycle Film Festival. Chris and I will both be there, so come on down.
Here’s a little Wonka clip to get you amped. And buy tickets here to make sure you get in. We sold out NYC and Toronto.
Chris raced Rumble in the Bronx. He won, Empire rider got first. Red Bull rider Austin Horse got second despite a move you will have to see for yourself in the video.
Big thanks to Empire sponsor Go Pro for the cameras. They are sick.
We did it. We screened the first cut of Empire at the 10th anniversary of the Bicycle Film Festival to two sold-out audiences. I’m pretty sure everyone loved it, and we got lots of great feedback.
Many photographers were on hand all week, but so far Tod Seelie has the best photos of our screening.
The audience was rapt.
Then we did a thankfully brief Q&A session with the riders.
A huge thanks to Brendt Barbur for helping make this happen, and to everyone else who made this possible. The riders, the collaborators, the groupie, the lovers, and even the haters.
We’re in the process of finalizing the cut and getting everything in order for the DVD. Expect more frequent updates as we get there. But don’t get mad if we don’t actually follow through.
